Two in One: Writer and Illustrator Bob Staake

Illustrators don’t always get the respect they deserve so it’s nice to see when one of our own gets some attention. I have known Bob Staake since 1975 when he worked with my sisters at “The Wild West” clothing store. They were all teenagers and my sisters would come home with stories about how Bob would have everyone laughing for their whole shift. Some of the stories involved Bob climbing up on the displays and making certain creative changes to the signage, unbeknownst to the manager.

Bob went to West Torrance High School and started out doing cartoons for the school paper. Today, Bob is an author and illustrator of over 50 books. He also does illustration for The New Yorker and other high profile clients. He was contacted by Intel to do a commercial for their 2-in-1 computer. You can read more at:
